AFCAT Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 2020

All candidates those satisfy the following criteria & citizen of India can apply for the exams.

Flying Branch through AFCAT & NCC Special Entry  20 years – 24 years (as of 1st January 2022)Mandatorily passed with minimum 50 % marks each in Maths & Physics at 10 + 2 level. And Graduated with a minimum of 3 years degree course from recognized University with a minimum of 60 % marks or equivalent. OR BE/ B Tech Degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 60 % marks or equivalent. OR Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
For Ground Duty (Technical)20 years – 26 years (as of 1st January 2022)Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): Minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.   And Minimum Four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University. OR Cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): Minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level. AND Minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from recognized University.  OR Cleared Sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers
For Ground Duty (Non-Technical)20 years – 26 years (as of 1st January 2022)Administration: Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR Cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.   Account: Passed 10+2 and with 60% marks in Graduation in specified finance stream from a recognized university.

Note: Only those candidates can apply who have given 12th standard in the 10+2 pattern of examination.

AFCAT Recruitment Selection Process 2020

  • Candidates who applied for Indian Air Force AFCAT Recruitment 2020 will be called for the exam either on 20th February 2021 or 21st February 2021.
  • Candidates opting for Ground Duty (technical) branch is mandatory to appear in both AFCAT as well as Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).

Essentials for Examination Hall

  • e-Admit Card for AFCAT 01/2021
  • Candidates’ Aadhaar Card
  • PAN card/ Passport/ Driving licence/ Voter Identity Card/ College Identity Card or any other valid photo identity proof, with details of name, father’s name, date of birth and a clear photograph.
  • Two passport size colour photographs (same as the photo uploaded during the online application).
  • Ballpoint Pen (Blue or Black)

Step 2 – Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview Round

After qualifying the AFCAT written exam, IAF issue a merit list who obtained minimum qualifying marks as per IAF discretion.

AFSB round is further divided into 3 stages:

Screening Test:

For officer intelligence rating test, discussion test and picture perception test.

Psychological Test:

To test the interactive ability and personal conversation with the Interviewing Officer.

For Flying Branch:

Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) for the candidates to undergo once in a lifetime.

 Step 3 Medical & Document Verification

After clearing all the rounds, IAF issue All India Merit List for the finalised candidates.
